The Revenants
Not every design is meant to vanish for good. A Revenant is an Edinburgh ghost character we keep in reserve and bring back, in new colours, as the Scottish year turns. We call it The Turning.
Current Release — Revenants Batch 1 - The Gleaners
The name tells you the character. The batch number tells you which return you're holding. The quarter day and year date that release.
What a Revenant Is
Revenant: one who returns. A Ghost is tied to one place or story and made once. A Revenant is a character in its own right, with a name and a fixed shape, that we mean to make again from the very start.
The shape never changes between returns. The colour does. Each release has a new finish, the way the land looks different every season without changing underneath. And when a return is coloured with our plant dyes, it carries something of the season they were gathered in.
We decide a design is a Revenant before it's ever first made, and say so at launch. Never afterwards, however well a batch sells. A Collection promises it will never come back. A Revenant promises it will.
The Turning
Revenants are released on Scotland's old quarter days. Not necessarily every one, and not necessarily every year. We bring a character back when we have something worth bringing it back for.

"A Collection is a place remembered once and then left in peace. A Revenant is a character we chose to keep: the same figure, dressed by the season, so no two returns are quite alike."
